One outdoor tap, four independently controlled outlets. This solid brass splitter lets you leave a sprinkler, a drip line, a hose reel and a spare connection all plumbed in at once, then open and close each one without unscrewing anything.
Why brass matters here
Plastic splitters are cheaper, but their internal passages are narrow enough to throttle flow noticeably, and their valve stems work loose after a season of vibration. This one is machined from heavy-duty brass with full-bore ball valves, so it restricts far less water and the levers still feel firm years in. Brass is also corrosion-proof, which matters on a fitting that sits outdoors in all weather.
Independent shut-off on every outlet
Each of the four outlets has its own lever. Turn one on to water the beds, leave the other three closed, and the pressure goes where you want it rather than being split four ways. The ball valves close tight enough to stop dripping entirely, which is the usual failure point on cheaper multi-way adapters.

Fitting and care
Check that a rubber washer is seated in the inlet before threading it onto the tap — a missing washer, not a loose fitting, causes almost every leak at this joint. Hand-tighten; a wrench isn't needed and will only crush the washer. Disconnect and drain the splitter before the first hard freeze, since water trapped inside any brass fitting will expand and split it.
Always disconnect the accessory when you've finished using it, and don't leave it unattended under pressure.
